B.Com is one of the most popular courses in India, but the real struggle begins once you finish it. Most of us are clueless about what to do next. I’m a B.Com graduate myself, and after months of researching and asking seniors, I’ve realised the Top 5 Career Choices for B.Com Students in 2025. (I too initially struggled & don’t want others to face a similar problem)

Chartered Accountancy (CA)
This might sound old, but even in 2025, CA continues to be one of the most respected and rewarding careers for B.Com students. Yes, it’s tough, and yes, the passing percentage is low, but those who clear it rarely regret choosing this path.
- Eligibility: You can start after the 12th, but most people prefer doing it after B.Com.
- Salary Range: Freshers usually get between ₹8-12 LPA.
- Job Roles: Audit, Taxation, Finance Advisory, Internal Control.
Usually, people who try this path might not find their success early. I’ve seen a couple of students who were doing jobs & simultaneously preparing for CA & also cracked it, take advice from such people to understand the real-time struggles they face!
MBA (Finance, Marketing, HR)
There is a wave of MBAs currently, first & foremost MBA is not just for IIMs. Gone are the days when an MBA meant only IIM or nothing. Plenty of decent private and state universities are offering quality MBA programs with solid placements. If you’re someone who enjoys strategy, business planning, or leadership roles, this is a solid choice. Even the industry is lookling for people who interact with clients more than do robotic work.
Why it works:
- Opens up job opportunities in MNCs, banks, FMCG companies, and startups.
- If done from a good B-school, average CTC ranges from ₹6-18 LPA. (You can even start less & always go up from there on)

This one’s trending like crazy right now. I know at least 7-8 B.Com students who shifted to digital marketing in the last year. You don’t need to be a techie or designer; just learn how online businesses run, manage ads, and work on content strategies.

- Work from home / freelance options available. (Freelancers sometimes earn more than many professionals out their)
- Entry-level salary is ₹3-6 LPA, but it grows quickly with experience.

If you’re good at Excel, stats, and data interpretation, this is a great career with future growth. You can always start slow with excel & move forward to many more options!

- The demand is still open for various domains
- Entry-level salary is ₹5-12 LPA after you pick up skills.
- Basic tools you’ll need to learn: Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau.
