Most of them have told me that the course learning is practical and they teach you through multiple different projects and assignments, Even though I come from a BCom background..during my professional certification most of the time they would teach me through theoretical manners and I believe you all would have felt the same. At the same time, upgrad’s approach toward the Financial modeling course is different! This is a four-month program.
They offer you weekend live classes and predefined modules that must be completed during the weekday classes, along with those they also provide doubt resolution classes every day. This course is suitable for freshers and graduate students who are not certain about their future and want to work in the financial domain, this helps you to develop a particular skill that could be useful in your professional career. Students coming from a BCom or BA degree can certainly go for this without a second thought. They also provide you with knowledge about tools such as Excel, Tableau, and Power BI that would be useful in your financial domain and also the analysis domain which has a bright future.
This program also has certain negativities, the first and foremost is its pricing, this course costs you around 65k to 80k…which I felt was too high. The tools that I told you earlier can be easily accessed through YouTube and learn the same thing but here learning is in a structured way & you get to meet top professionals in your domain to resolve your doubts. The other part is the reality about placements, even though the sales team tells you that they offer 100% placements some of the students who have already completed the course have felt that this is not true…they do offer you a separate portal where you will have access to apply for the jobs regularly, only your strong effort can get you through to a job. The salary range varies from 3.5lpa to 25lpa based on your experience in their job portal.
Coming back to the course structure, they offer you learning directly from top PwC experts and also live and focused learning sessions where you will have Real world financial projects to experience. This course is divided into four different segments where it will start from the fundamental of finance and speak about the Excel usage along with Financial Modelling and investment banking in the following courses!
I would also like to recommend the course only to those students who are financially well off if you are struggling and have to arrange this money…I don’t think it’s worth it since the amount you are investing is huge. If you have money and are struggling to start your career or have no idea how to proceed further in your professional life, this could be a start where that would help you stand out from the crowd!
Even if you are opting for the course and are a fresher, I would suggest you do an internship side by side so that you would be different from other people who are applying for jobs… These little things will help you to get into top organizations & change your life.
